Damned...
Damned is the artist
Given a gift of enlightenment
And the ability to cause
Others to see
Who does not create…
Damned is the fool
Who knows too much
And has magnificent words
With little meaning
Who does not sit quietly…
Damned is the giver
Who gives with expectations
For a gift given
Is not a loan
Bitterly never repaid…
Damned are we all
Who take care of our friends
Passing the neediest
Because we know them not
And ask not their name.
There are no excuses
That are excuse enough
To pass this life
Without eternal memories
In the hearts of strangers.
